Why be certified?
BPM certificates have been developed by BPM practices taking into account international certification standards and remain internationally recognized standards for BPM professionals. These are the first independent professional exams and certification programs in the field of BPM.
BPM certification means that a person has:
– Achieved appropriate professional experience and / or education;
– Passed the qualifying exam on 130 questions;
– Agreed to the terms of the professional code of ethics;
– Obliged to maintain an active qualification by meeting the requirements for continuous professional development.
There are three levels of BPM certification:
Process Analyst
Credential: Certified Business Process Associate - CBPA
Eligibility requirements:
- 1250 hours documented experience in Business Process related area;
OR - qualifying 4 year university degree (Bachelor degree).
Steps to obtaining credential:
- complete application;
- pass examination;
- sign ABPMP Code of Ethics.
Exam information:
- 2 hours;
- 90 multiple choice questions.
Fees:
- application fee – $40 *
- examination fee – $400
- re-certification fee – $75
Process Architect
Credential: Certified Business Process Professional - CBPP
Eligibility requirements:
- 4 years Business Process Experience.
May substitute half year education credit for:
– advanced degree;
– approved Certifications such as the PMP or CPIM.
Steps to obtaining credential:
- complete application;
- pass examination;
- abide ABPMP Code of Ethics.
Exam information:
- 3 hours;
- 130 questions.
Fees:
- application fee – $75
- examination fee – members of the Association – $500, others – $650
Chief Process Architect
Credential: Certified Business Process Leader - CBPL
Eligibility requirements:
- 10 years Business Process Experience;
- 5 years of Business Transformation Project Management;
- a CBPP certification;
- 6 month credit for an Advanced Degree & Approved Industry Certifications e.g. Lean, PMP, CBA.
Steps to obtaining credential:
- Application Process & Multiple Choice Exam
Exam information:
- 3 hours;
- 130 questions.
